ROOFING ALLIANCE UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 2019
We are pleased to welcome our newest Governor member, Peter Horch with Horch Roofing, Warren, Maine. Horch was familiar with the Roofing Alliance but was convinced to join after learning more at NRCA's Midyear Meetings in July. The company was founded in 2003 with two full-time employees working out of Horch's home; Horch Roofing now employs 42 year-round employees. The company specializes in metal roofing, asphalt shingle roofing, EPDM rubber roofing and seamless gutters for residential and commercial projects. The company recycles 100% of its roofing waste through its Reroof and Recycle program. Horch Roofing has made its presence known through its membership with the Chamber of Commerce in several communities. Horch holds a position on the board of directors in the Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce. He not only offers his roofing expertise and company’s services to Maine but also is actively involved in the community.

We know some of our members are following the Roofing Alliance, but we would like to encourage those who are not to please do so, and we also would like to get more nonmembers to follow us. Something we post may spark an interest, which will drive prospective members to our website or to reach out to one of us. Our communications team has developed step-by-step instructions for how you can like, follow and share the Roofing Alliance posts on social media. On a sad note, we report former Roofing Alliance member Rob McReynolds, Flynn Group of Companies (formerly D&D Roofing), Commerce City, Colo., passed away Sept. 17. D&D Roofing joined the Roofing Alliance in June 2007. Rob remained actively involved until his retirement in 2017. In 2015, D&D Roofing won two Gold Circle Awards—for innovative solutions and safety. Rob is survived by his wife, Barb, and daughters, Megan and Mo. Click here to read the full obituary.
In conclusion, we strongly encourage you to attend the Nov. 15 Joint Board of Trustees and full member meeting. The meeting is being held during NRCA's fall meetings because many of you also serve on NRCA committees. You should have received an email with meeting information. If you did not, please let Bennett Judson know. We realize it can be a long week of meetings, but it is important for Roofing Alliance members to be actively involved. So, plan to join us and respond by Oct. 4 if you have not already done so.

Feel free to contact us with your comments, questions or any prospective members you would like our membership development team to approach.

Thank you!
